It’s time to join your fellow families at Hawk and give back to our community through our annual Blanket the World charitable drive. This collection of toys and other items to support local families runs through the month of November in tandem with the school’s food drive. This is great time, before the rush of the holidays is fully upon us, to talk to your children about those less fortunate and how we can all help each other, whether through material support or our time. This year our drive continues through December 12.
Our school nurse and guidance counselor work to identify needs in our local community and create “mittens” for individual gifts. Choose a mitten from the Hawk School front lobby display, and deliver the item requested (unwrapped) to the designated box in front of the guidance office or send in with your child in his/her backpack.
If you can’t make it into school to select a mitten, you may send in a note to your classroom teacher requesting that a mitten be sent home.
Thank you to our program planners Anuja Joshi and Karen Berliner for coordinating the decorations and donations! Please address any questions about the program to our school guidance counselor, Kelly Marshall, at Kelly.Marshall@ww-p.org.
