The next installment in our series of four PTA-sponsored educational assemblies is coming up this Friday February 10! This musical assembly features the Amazing Junk Jam Band:

The Amazing Junk Jam is a high energy, interactive, and educational performance featuring musicians using found objects and homemade instruments to deliver messages of environmental awareness, social responsibility, and recycling. Topics include learning about “The Commons” AKA things we all need to survive, a musical pledge to the planet, a wake up call to arms, and shifting awareness of an objects purpose. In addition to recycled instruments, artists incorporate technology by using a keyboard and “looper” or sound recycling pedal that allows for on the spot recording and layering of sounds to build songs where students will add sounds to create a song. Are you ready to Jam?
This is the third of our four assembly program the PTA put together this year, which features enrichment in math, science, and the arts.
- 10/28 – Mad Science Halloween program
- 12/19 – Superhero Math
- 2/10 – Amazing Junk Jam Band
- 5/15 – ArtPower’s production of The Monster Who Ate My Peas
We could not bring this programming to the school without your membership and donations to the PTA! Thank you!
