Hi all!
We hope that your school year is off to a great start!
The Hawk CST has created a team for the Autism Speaks Walk:

9:00 AM Registration
10:30 AM Walk
ETS – 660 Rosedale Road, Princeton, New Jersey 08540
Please try to arrive by 10:00, as they rope off the parking lot to avoid any traffic on the walk. Thank you.
Although Autism Awareness Month does not occur until April, we would like to make you aware of an event happening this fall. Autism Speaks, an autism awareness organization, coordinates a fundraising walk every fall in New Jersey (in several different areas). The Autism Speaks Walk is the world’s largest autism fundraising event dedicated to improving the lives of people with autism. Powered by the love of parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, relatives, and supporters, the funds raised help ensure people of all abilities have access to the tools needed to lead ‘their best lives’.
Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Their longtime friend Bernie Marcus donated $25 million to help financially launch the organization. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
Please join us this year in showing our Hawk families how Hawk supports not only Autism Awareness, but Autism Acceptance. We would love to have you on the team!!!
To register to walk, all you need to do is Google “Autism Speaks Central NJ Walk 2018” and you should be brought directly to the website. If, for some reason, that doesn’t work, you can also go to the Autism Speaks website, click on find a walk, put in the 08550 zip code, click on the Princeton ETS walk. You can find us under the team name “Hawk/Wicoff Elementary Schools” or you can also look for Marissa Farber as the Team Captain.
To make a donation, click on Walk, then Donate, then Team, and type in our team name. At that point you can make a donation.
If interested in buying a Hawk Autism Awareness T-Shirt, please review the attachment, print it, and send it with your child to school in an envelope marked “Autism Awareness T-shirt, Attn: Marissa Farber”. Please write your child’s name and teacher’s name on the form as well. These t-shirt sizes are adult sizes. Please let Marissa know if you are interested in purchasing a shirt for your child and the size that is required. Once all orders are in (this Friday), Marissa will be in touch with the cost of the purchase. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your support!
